EKLAVYA MODEL RESIDENTIAL SPORTS SCHOOL KARINTHALAM

EMRSS Karinthalam, Kasaragod (Kerala) started in the year 2022-23 to impart quality education to ST children in the remote areas of Kerala state in order to avail of opportunities in high and professional education courses and get employment in various sectors. The school focus not only on academic education but on the all round development of the students. The school has a capacity of 480 students, catering to students from class VI to XII. Our school will be on par with Navodaya Vidyalaya and will have special facilities for preserving local art and culture besides providing training in sports and skill development.

EMRSS Karinthalam has 15 acres of land at Kinanoor village, in Karinthalam panchayath in parappa block of Kasargod district. The construction work of school building, hostel, mess, auditorium, staff quarters, stadium and play ground is about to start. At present, the school is functioning at MRS school Peringome in neighboring district, Kannur for convenience. As soon as the construction work of EMRSS at Karinthalam is over, the entire functioning of school will be shifted to the new building.

The inauguration of EMRSS Karinthalam was held on 16 July 2022 by Mr. K. Radhakrishnan, the Hon. Minister for welfare of scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and backward classes, Devaswoms, Parliamentary affairs of Govt. of Kerala. The school follows CBSE curriculum in English medium.

To imbue the socio- economic development of the Scheduled tribes in a co-ordinated and planned manner, considering it as an effective instruments for their holistic empowerment.

MISSION

Imparting quality education to ST children in order to enable them to avail high and professional education courses and to get employment in various sectors. Ensuring them opportunities at par with Non- ST populations there by providing impetus to over all development of tribal population.
